Leduc West Antique Society

March Newsletter !! - Editor Marg Burak

Since this mailer had to go out immediately, as we have a deadline, no newsletter will be coming in April. Your next newsletter will be in June.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION FORMS - PLEASE Submit!!!

I am enclosing a vehicle registration form. Please send it in with the information for the vehicles you will be bringing to the show in July. If you already have it filled in from last year don't send another one. This is only for new exhibits. The history part is important as that is what we read for the parade.

MAY 25th
Sale of Antiques & Collectibles
and
Auction Sale!!

The "Antiques in the Country" this year is held on May 25th. In addition to this sale of antiques we are also having an auction sale. Earl & Mernie Smith are moving and several of their treasures will be for sale at the auction. Other members will also be selling their treasurers. If you have something you would like to sell privately or perhaps donate to Leduc West as a fund raiser at the auction, please call 986-0054. A Charity Receipt can be issued for the value of the sale price of any donated article. The auctioneer will charge 10 % as his fee on the sale price. This fee will be donated back to the Society as a fund raiser. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. The more items we have, the more revenue Leduc West makes.

JUNE 2nd Leduc West Family Picnic

The other reminder is the Leduc West Family picnic that will be held on June 2nd at the Park. This is a potluck event. Bring a dish to share !! If the weather is nice we will be outside. In the event it rains like last year we will go inside. This will give you an opportunity to see the many displays Bill Smith has set up in the Founder's Gallery. Door prizes are always welcome !!!

Another reminder is the WEEKEND SCHEDULE at the Park. Several of you indicated at the Annual Meeting that you are interested in taking a day or a weekend so the park can be open; but, you had to check your calendar. Please call Marg at 986-0054 so I can book you in.

Annual Exposition July 27th & 28th
Featuring
INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER

This year for the Annual Exposition we will be using BUTTONS opposed to RIBBONS. All Exhibitors, Volunteers, Entertainers, & Vendors will receive a souvenir button. It will have a picture of Ron Morris's 1907 International Tractor in the centre. The cost is slightly higher than the ribbons; but, it will give you a souvenir to take home. I will try to get donations to help cover the additional expense. Your name will be on a list at the gates. There you will receive your button. Anyone not having a button will be required to pay. There will be one button per entertainer, volunteer, and exhibitor unless your exhibit requires two people to operate. We will be ordering 1000 buttons; so hopefully we will have an excellent turn out like last year or better yet, more participation. If you wish to volunteer for any positions call me @ 986-0054. I know there are some of you who are unable to do physical work and would like a button (free admission), just call and I'm sure we can accommodate you (ie: members bringing pies, phoning committees, etc.)

I will have more information on the show in the June newsletter.

RAFFLE:

I am very pleased with the response of turning in your ticket books so promptly. For those who haven't returned theirs please do so as soon as possible. Several of you have taken a second book I am very impressed. If you would like to help sell at the Farmer's Market, Safeway, IGA, or at any stores in Edmonton or surrounding area, please call and I'll help make the arrangements. Our advertising for our events is more effective by word of mouth opposed to high priced ads.

REMINDER: Please complete your survey forms and submit them as soon as possible.

Please do not put your surveys in with your tickets or membership payments as they go to two different places. If you do put them together, indicate so on the outside of your envelope. We would like the surveys to be as anonymous as possible.
