One of the most interesting units on display was this beautifully restored Farmall "M" and hay sweep. |
The tractor pushes the long forks under a pile of hay. The sweep raises the hay to the top of the haystack then dumps it. |
The tractor is owned by Dick McLay (right) and was restored by Dick, his son Scott (left) and his two grandsons, Caelan and Brody, below, left and right respectively. |
The sign on the sweep provides a short history of the unit. |
Here's another eyecatching machine, the Centaur. The Centaur Tractor Company manufactured the tractors in Greenwich, Ohio. |
John Deere was well represented. Above left is a JD AWH, a "Wide High-Clearance" version of the model A. Above right is a JD model BR, or "B Regular". The model 50, left, is testing its mettle in the tractor pull. |
A number of Olivers also turned out for the tractor pull. The 1954 Oliver 88, left, is owned and restored by Guy Scott of Edmonton. |
But tractors weren't the only attraction. Elsewhere on the grounds there was a lot to see. Blacksmithing techniques were demonstrated in the forge. |
There was a wide range of products and displays in the Vendors Building.
In the engine building the Northern Alberta LEGO Users Group recreated various historic buildings, including the Princess Theatre. |
